Brief Character History:
Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots and also the
barer of the Matrix of Leadership handed down to him from
Alpha Trion. Originally known as Orion Pax he used to be a
standard person living on Cybertron until one day he met
Megatron who lied to him and fooled him into handing over a
factory full of Energon Cubes. Megatrons 'Thank You' for
this action was a plasma cannon shot to the chest. Damaged
but not destroyed he was resurrected and re-designed by
Alpha Trion into the Autobot leader called Optimus Prime.
Optimus gathered the many Transformers at that time of the
beginning of the start of the Great Cybertronian Wars and
the Autobots and Decepticons were created. For many
thousands of years Megatron and Prime battled on Cybertron
until one day the Autobots tried to leave in search of a new
source of energy. However the Decepticons soon followed and
during the battle the Autobot space shuttle 'The Ark'
crashed onto Pre-Historic Earth.
Four Million years later the Volcano caused the ships
computer 'Iacon' to boot up and it began to repair the
Transformers inside the ship. Now both sides have awakened
the war continues on Earth. While Optimus Prime and the
Autobots try to defend Earth, Megatron seeks to plunder it
of its valuable energy resources. |

Originally Optimus Prime was released way before the
Transformers series came about in a toy series created by
Takara known as Diaclone. He was originally released by
Takara and was simply called 'Convoy' and had everything his
Transformers version does aside from the 'Autobot' symbol on
his trailer and arms.
Optimus has been the leader of the Autobots for many years
until the day Megatron finally killed him. On that day he
gave command to his oldest friend Ultra Magnus, however it
would be Hot Rod (Rodimus Prime) who would stand up and
become the leader of the Autobots. Eventually Optimus Prime
returns and saves the Universe from a virus called the 'Hate
Plague' but he eventually dies again while trying to save
the Vector Sigma computer on Cybertron when the Headmasters
from the Planet Master arrive on Cybertron.
During that time Rodimus Prime is the leader again yet he
fails and Cybertron gets blown to pieces and the Vector
Sigma computer is destroyed thanks to Galvatron's greed and
Scorponok's obsession. Rodimus Prime leaves and gives
command to Cerebros (Fortress Maximus) who eventually hands
command to Star Saber. During a rescue operation on a Planet
however Star Saber almost dies and instead hands command to
Dai Atlas. The Great Wars are basically over until
Galvatron's destroyed body is reborn as Super Megatron,
thankfully Hot Rod returns with the body of Optimus Prime
and thanks to the Zodiac (a rare power found by Dai Atlas)
they are able to bring Optimus Prime back to life once more.
Now called Star Convoy he and Super Megatron battle to the
death until Super Megatron is finally defeated and the end
of the Cybertronian Wars has finally arrived. |

Universe History: |
There have been many variations of how Optimus Prime has
been portrayed over the many years. In Generation One he is
a true leader pure and simple, even in the comics he tries
to search for peace even with Megatron even though he knows
that Megatron can't be trusted.
The comic Universe also shows Optimus Prime becoming Power
Master Optimus Prime but also that his human Power Master
partner HI-Q is ALSO Optimus Prime as well. Its a very
confusing saga.
The comics also show that during the Generation Two era we
saw Tank Megatron kill Optimus Prime, however he cheats
death by using the Matrix of leadership to reformat him into
Laser Rod Optimus Prime - Prime of Justice. which showed a
more serious and more battle hungry Optimus Prime.
The actual Universe story is of how Unicron is bringing
Transformers from all parts of time/space to battle with
each other so he can gain power from the energy/hatred they
use. Optimus Primal (from the Beast Wars timeline) is chosen
as the leader of the Autobots while Optimus Prime (from the
RiD timeline) is chosen as his 2nd in command against the
Decepticons lead by RazorClaw (from the Beast Wars timeline)
who is commanded by Unicron to battle with the Autobots and
rage war.
Galaxy Force shows a similar effect that Generation One had
with Galaxy Convoy (Optimus Prime) basically taking orders
from Vector Prime that comes across as how Alpha Trion and
Optimus Prime used to be during the Generation One era since
Optimus Prime always looked up to Alpha Trion as a sort of
father figure since it was he who created him. |
