During series 2 of Beast Machines, Hasbro chose to remake their Optimus Primal figure because of the fact that the first Beast Machines version of him that was done by Hasbro/Mainframe just wasn't very well designed and didn't look a thing like he was meant to and also the fans were not very happy with him. So Hasbro then remade Beast Machines Optimus and they created Blast Punch Optimus Primal and even though his colors are wrong he is still a great figure.

Primal may not have the correct show colors but the colors he has been given really do suit the toy and make it stand out when compared to the other Beast Machine figures. Colors aside and you can see that this figure is very close to how Optimus Primal should look in the show, robot mode is very show accurate and even has the rocket boosters hidden in Primal's back and the robot face has been very well created and looks just like how Primal does in the cartoon show. Beast mode isn't very accurate as how it looks on the show but its a very good try and about as close as you can expect to get considering just how difficult it is to recreate a show accurate Beast Machines Primal.

The whole reason the figure is named 'Blast Punch' is because on the left arm if you hold down the button on Primal's shoulder then his arm rotates and his hand section comes out slightly but hardly very far and is pretty disappointing in all honesty. Some bad things about the character are that the arms don't bend at the elbow sections and for some strange reason the Gorilla doesn't seem to have any eye balls? instead its just pure white and also the color scheme for the figure is wrong but considering how nice the new colors that have been given to him look then you can forgive Hasbro for that.

Blast Punch Optimus Primal came boxed and was sold as a 'Mega' figure and he came with his instructions but sadly nothing else and the box wasn't very exciting as it just followed the Beast Machines design.

A nice version of Optimus Primal and worth the purchase but he is not to every Transformer fans taste, you will either love Blast Punch Primal or hate him
