Megatron has made an evil twisted clone of the Autobot leader Optimus Prime and named him Nemesis Prime, however unlike Optimus this version of Prime is cold and heartless and wishes death and destruction upon the world. A cold metal heart and weapons of mass destruction in his hands...can Optimus Prime defeat his evil clone?.

What this is really is just a repaint of Classics Optimus Prime, now while this may be an ok thing for some fans it still kind of feels abit lazy from Hasbro to do this and not add at least one thing different to the mould rather than just a paint job and added Decepticon symbols. The very least they could have done is given Nemesis Prime a new weapon or a Matrix considering the fact that this toy was a SDCC exclusive item and cost more than most figures in the line and was a bit harder to get a hold of.

Beast mode is not that impressive and i wont lie to you on this one, while Optimus Prime looks good and suits the figure and the mould very well (Especially the Henkei Version) this repaint feels slightly let down and your just left feeling 'wow...another black Optimus Prime repaint' and the sad thing is that while the mould IS a good mould and the robot mode does look amazing....you still feel let down when looking at the repaint Nemesis Prime because he just feels slightly rushed and uncared for and the colors just dont JUMP out at you like how Henkei/Classics Primes paint color scheme seems to do.

The Arms and legs are very flexible and can rotate pretty much in almost any direction for any pose you may want the figure to go into. The waist also rotates and can move side to side as does the head. The robot mode also has two weapons at his disposal in the form of his 'twin blaster rifle' and also his main 'Iron Blaster' which can also be attached to the back of robot mode when not being used.

Sadly the figure does not come with a trailer this time either which is a massive pain in the ass because the Trailer adds ALOT to Prime when in vehicle mode and as such this now means your left to pay around $50 for the BTS Nemesis Prime Trailer or else the vehicle mode just seems a bit...well barren basically.

Vehicle mode looks just like Optimus Primes vehicle mode but then again this is obviously just a repaint so its to be expected really. The figure transforms into vehicle mode really easily and is not that hard to figure out if you haven't gotten the original Optimus Prime mould. The parts hold together well once transformed but its just the lack of a Trailer which seriously lets this mould down once in vehicle mode.

The biggest crime of all about this character/figure is the Takara 'unrelased Wonderfest' version of this mould named 'Henkei Shadow Convoy' which had chrome parts just like Henkei convoy but also had clear see-through red windows and eyes and a slight different paint scheme. Now while this may not sound like much its when you compare to two figures together that you can see Takara made the better product because not only did the red windows stand out more in both vehicle and robot mode but also the added chrome effect on the figure really made the character stand out way much more than Hasbro's lazy cant-be-arsed plain grey looking color they seem to have chosen for the grill and bumper of the figure. The red windows also made the figure stand out much more in robot mode and you could actually SEE the windows when in robot mode unlike Hasbro's version which has dark blue windows and sometimes makes it a bit hard to even notice them and its when you put him next to Optimus Prime that you realise Hasbro are just using the exact same windows on the same toy. Why Takara cancelled the release of Henkei Shadow Convoy is unclear and a serious crime because he was the much better product.

Packaging for Nemesis Prime is just the same as Optimus Primes packaging aside from the fact the drawn figure on the front has been repainted black and also on the back of the box they DID at least change the toy pictures and show the actual figure rather than just photoshoping the image to look like Nemesis Prime which for some weird ass reason Hasbro seem to do from time to time. Inside are the instructions for Nemesis and also his two weapons which are attached to him in vehicle mode.

If you want to add more to the figure then you can always buy the FansProjects SHADOW COMMANDER add-on set from places like our sponsers www.ToyArena.com or places such as www.Kapow-toys.com to at least try and add something more to the figure at he at least then kinda gets a trailer but then he just basically becomes a black Ultra Magnus with a slightly different head and sword and for the asking price of roughly $80 for just a black Magnus then you might as well get the BTS trailer for $50 if you can get your hands on it.

A good figure and a good mould but just feels like he is missing something that should make him great and instead leaves you feeling like while he looks good sometimes....sometimes you look at him and feel 'he is not complete' or when you look at him you wonder why Takara cancelled Shadow Convoy because he looked so amazing in comparison. Don't get this reviewer wrong this is a good toy and i do like the mould but i just feel as if Hasbro are kind of giving fans the middle finger with this one mainly because for the price of the figure you could idieally get two other normal classics toys such as Sideswipe or Starscream or even in some cases get three figures for the asking price of just this one SDCC Nemesis Prime! i just feel for the asking price of Nemesis Prime and the fact he is just a repaint...i dont feel like were getting very much for our money.
