In a
different time line
in the Cybertron
history were Prime
and Megatron fought
on the Beast Planet/Geia
the battle were
Prime merges with
Leo Breaker to
defeat Megatron
leaves him almost
ruined and
destroyed. In this
time line Megatron
didn’t use his
energy bubble (the
green shield he uses
in the forest) and
instead reformats
his body and adapts
to the Beast Planet/Geia
instead and becomes
T-Rex Beast Megatron
once more.
What
this is really is
just an ugly repaint
of the new 10th
reissue/update of
the Beast Wars
Megatron. Hasbro
recently released a
new mould for Beast
Wars Megatron for
the 10th
anniversary and the
Beast mode looked
good and the robot
mode was ok but had
some very ugly
colors. The is the
repaint of that for
the Cybertron line
and is even more
ugly in color as
this is meant to be a
homage to Armada
Predacon (a green
repaint BW TM
Megatron) which
would be an ok idea
but the colors are
seriously ugly.
Beast
mode is ok but the
colors really do
look ugly and the
coloring on the neck
area just isn’t
working and just
makes the beast mode
area look stupid in
the neck place
because the colors
are so off. The
green colors do work
to a point but the
selection of brown
and red and yellow
just seem like a
strange sort of
miss-mash rather
than an actual
choice of colors.
The
Beast mode has a lot
of freedom of
movement because the
legs can move in
almost any position
and the arms also
move but not much
because obviously
they are T-rex arms
and as everyone
knows the T-rex
never had much
movement in the
arms. The neck also
has freedom of
movement and can
rotate in almost
anyway but it seems
rather odd because
at the back is the
tail and the tail is
a strange area
because once you
connect the
Planet-Key into the
tail….the arse opens
up…and reveals an
arse missile
launcher and
missile. Yes that
was written down
correctly, Beast
Megatron has an arse
missile stuck into
his T-rex bottom and
yes it does look
stupid, very stupid
in fact.
Robot
mode looks ok but
yet again has more
odd choices of
colors of
brown/yellow/green
and silver. I'm not
to sure were the
hell Hasbro were
getting there
choices of colors
but this figure is
one odd selection of
ugly paint
application’s. The
10th
anniversary release
of Beast Megatron/Cybertron
Megatron also has a
new feature of were
the tail section can
come off which
reveals a fist for
the figures robot
mode. This basically
means that in robot
mode Megatron has a
choice of the T-rex
head-Tail and also a
new fist area for
the robot mode. The
figure can hold the
tail section and
when the Planet-Key
is added the tail
turns into a type of
missile launcher but
yet still seems like
Megatron is holding
his arse in his
hand.
The
chest area connects
in exactly the same
way as the original
Beast Wars Megatron
and pretty much so
does the rest of the
body which is rather
a surprise
considering this is
a new mould and is
also an update of an
older character. The
arms have lots of
freedom and the legs
also have a lot of
freedom of movement
as well. The waist
area can rotate but
has a problem of
popping the chest
area out of its
connection joints if
pulled/twisted to
quickly. The head
also has a lot of
movement but because
of the colors it
just seems very ugly
rather than
something you can
admire.
Cybertron Beast
Megatron came along
in the Cybertron
line near the end of
the series and was
released with the
repainted version of
10th
anniversary Optimus
Primal (Also from
Beast Planet) but
even he was a poor
repaint from the
original. The figure
came released in
card/bubble form ad
had images on the
back of both beast
and robot mode but
didn’t come with
much else sadly and
the Cybertron
version was also
missing the smaller
10th
anniversary ships
Axalon ect ect.
A
good figure and a
good mould but a
figure with the most
ugly and worse
colors you would
ever expect to see.
I think the only way
this color scheme
would have been
worse is if it was
all yellow but
considering the
colors the figure
ended up with in the
end anyway….its not
much of an
improvement. A good
figure but just
don’t expect to fall
in love with the god
ugly paint scheme |
