The leader and king of the Beast Planet with a lust for power and respect for only the strong that is what makes Scourge the ruler of Beast Planet. He defeated all his rivals and finally defeated the previous ruler of the Beast Planet and now Scourge rules the Planet with an iron fist and he only admires and respects the strong.

Beast mode for this figure is pure joy if your a fan of Dragon Transformers such as Beast Wars Transmetal 2 Megatron, Beast Wars 2 Galvatron and others. Firstly thanks to this figure being an 'Ultra' in size it makes it a very good sized toy with lots of detail added to all areas of the figure.

The figure looks fantastic in Dragon mode and also looks very menacing and has a very strong presence. The Dragon neck can move up and down but sadly not from side to side which is a huge disappointment as it would have made this figure all the more amazing. The legs can all bend in the knee sections and the Dragon also has huge claws and talons on the feet as well.

Add the Force Chip into the back area of Scourge and not only do you get a homage G1 Transforming sound effect but the top-back area of Scourge flips out to reveal two more Dragon heads which converts Scourge into a 3-headed Hydra. Press the button on the top section of the Dragon mode once again and you get another sound effect, this time its a beastly roar from Scourge himself. Press once again while the Force Chip is inserted and you get a 'Blasting' sound from Scourge which is a little confusing since Scourge doesn't use guns to begin with. Scourge only really uses his tail/Axe as a weapon so why he has a 'Blasting' Sound effect is a little confusing as it would have made much more sense to have the 'fire' sound effect you hear from the cartoon show when Scourge uses his Force Chip to activate his Hydra mode and then use his triple flame breath.

Robot mode is good and is rather tall than most of the Cybertron line (aside from Leader Class obviously) and the only real down side to this figure is in the arm area because of the simple fact that Scourge can not bend his elbow section upwards. The area is able to bend across giving some point of movement but the fact that the elbow section can not move upwards means that Scourge can never rest his Axe against his shoulders. It seems odd that this feature was left out considering how easy it would have been to add this to the design of the toy when it was being created.

The rest of the character is built perfectly and works really well. The Dragon head acts as the chest area for robot mode while the head flips out from the back of the neck area of Scourge. The tail also comes out and transforms into a weapon for Scourge to use (an Axe) and folds out from three areas. The Hydra heads also come out for robot mode as well once you use the Force Chip to activate them.

The paint work on the figure is fantastic aside from the face area were on some versions of the toy it appears like the area of the face just behind the side areas of the helmet sections don't appear to be fully painted correctly. aside from that then the figure is perfect as far as paint work goes. The figure has perfect matching colors and they all blend in together with out any miss-matching places.

Scourge comes boxed in the same design as the rest of the 'Ultra' class figures with an image on the front of Scourge himself in the right hand corner of the box while the rest of the front shows off Scourge in Beast mode while behind a clear plastic window. The back of the box shows images of Scourge in both Beast and Robot mode and also mentions his sound effect features.

A great addition to the Cybertron line and a real fun figure to play with that has loads of replay value to it. Again the only real down-side to the figure is the fact his elbow area is not as flexible as one would have hoped but aside from this issue it still takes nothing away from just what a great figure Scourge actually is.
