Through time and
space arrives Vector
Prime who is also
known as "The Last
Autobot" and is a
legend through all
of Cybertron
History. He came
through time to help
Optimus Prime and
the Autobots save
the Galaxy and
prevent the biggest
disaster in
Cybertron History
and maybe save the
rest of the Galaxy
from total
destruction.
Vector Prime is
unlike most Autobots
as he is from the
past but also has
the ability to
transport through
time and space. He
carries with him a
Sword with
unimaginable power
that is capable of
opening warp gates
to other Planets and
with this and his
Cyber-Planet-Key he
is able to warp
through time and
effect the
past/future.
Vehicle mode is a
type of space
shuttle that's never
been seen before by
anybody from our
time. The shuttle
looks beautiful and
sleek but sadly
since this is the
Hasbro version it
sucks in a lot of
places, first
downfall is the
wings on the
shuttle. On the
Takara Galaxy Force
version of this
figure the wings are
made of solid firm
plastic but on the
Hasbro version the
Wings are made of
weak poor plastic
that's always bent
in a stupid
direction even if
you never touched
them. Sadly this
also goes for Vector
Primes sword too
which is also made
from bendy plastic
rather than the
Takara version which
has solid plastic.
The front of the
shuttle has a
missile hidden in
the middle section
of the front area of
the ship while on
top of the front
area is an area
where the Mini-Con
Safe Guard can
attach to in vehicle
mode to give the
space shuttle more
fire power. Under
the shuttle the feet
rotate inwards and
reveal two types of
radar dishes while
the center area
contains a cock pit
of the shuttle. The
side area on the
back section has two
Mini-Con ports and
above that is Vector
Primes
Cyber-Planet-Key
slot which once
inserted has sound
effects but this is
only if you put
batteries in as it
appears yet again
Hasbro have released
a Cybertron figure
with sound effects
but without
batteries.
Vector Prime also
comes with his own
Mini-Con called Safe
Guard who can
transform into a
space shuttle to
accompany Vector
Prime in space but
he also has the
ability to transform
into a gun that can
attach to Vector
Primes wrist area
and act as a short
range blaster. Safe
Guard also connects
to the front area of
shuttle mode to add
more fire power and
also improve the
design of the
vehicle mode. The
vehicle mode for
Safe Guard is rather
nice and looks much
better than most
other Mini-Cons and
the Robot mode also
seems to have a fair
amount of
articulation than
even some of the
Cybertron Scouts
such as Scattershot
(I.E the knees are
actually able to
bend) but its just a
shame that the paint
work on Safe Guard
just seems a little
lazy as there is
hardly much paint
application to him
aside from maybe
three colors.
Vector Prime in
robot mode looks
very much like a
Knight of the old
stories and looks
amazing and very
different when
compared to the
other Transformers
but considering that
Vector Prime is from
a different time
than all the other
Transformers then
this makes sense. If
you look at the face
for Vector Prime
very closely you
notice that the face
for Vector Prime is
actually the Autobot
Symbol! Another cool
feature about Vector
Prime is that he
comes with his
Energon Sword which
cuts through Time
and Space and also
he comes with his
very own type of
Cyber-Planet-Key.
Vector Prime comes
with a different
type of Planet-key
than all the other
Transformers, his
Planet-Key has
symbols for all the
other Planets that
were once used to
make the
Space-Bridge that
connected all the
Planets together
before the great
wars ruined and
destroyed
everything.
This version of
Vector Prime comes
painted in a golden
style of coloring
and was sold singly
which is rather
insulting because
why this version of
Vector Prime wasn't
sold with Maroon
Cybertron Starscream
makes no sense at
all. Instead fans
had to buy two
Vector Primes (One
with the original
color scheme) just
to get a hold of a
small version of
Starscream when in
reality Hasbro could
easily have sold
Starscream with the
Golden Repaint of
Vector Prime but
chose not too.
The packaging for
the Golden Version
of Vector Prime
followed the
standard Cybertron
packaging which was
identical to how he
was originally
packaged. Standard
Cybertron box with
the figure displayed
in vehicle mode with
images on the back
of robot mode and
vehicle mode with a
clear plastic window
on the front on the
box. Vector Prime
came with his
instructions and his
Cyber-Planet-Key and
his Mini-Con and
Sword along with a
missile.
A fantastic figure
but as repaints go
then this figure
isn't that fantastic
but it is a good
mould. It would have
been nice if instead
of Hasbro screwing
us all over and
repaint the figure
as Alpha Trion and
then making him a
Botcon exclusive
that if they had
released that
version instead of
this plain golden
version. Its an
alright repaint but
just feels like it
could have been so
much more. |
