It seems that Hasbro have chosen to give the fans more Decepticon Scourge love with this fantastic repaint of G2 Hero Prime now in the RiD series.

Basically a lot of the figures in Transformers RiD are amazing repaints such as Fortress/Brave Maximus and the Combaticons. Scourge was a repaint of G2 Laser-Rod Optimus Prime and not content with that it seems Hasbro has also given us another repaint but this time of G2 Hero Prime now in RiD Scourge colors.

The new colors look fantastic and really bring life to this figures mold. G2 Hero Prime was a great figure but the new lick of paint has really given life to an old mold. RiD Destructicon Scourge is also highly pose able as well which means that his knee and elbow sections move perfectly which also allows for many poses.

Destructicon Scourge also comes with 2 rather large missiles and a gas pump much like G2 Hero Prime and Hero Megatron did (G2 Hero Megatron has also been repainted for the RiD line but renamed Destructicon Bludgeon) and also his own Blaster rifle. However Destructicon Scourge also seems to suffer the same few problems that G2 Hero Prime suffered with as well. The problems this mold has are that the sections that hold the missiles to the back of the figure don't seem to work very well and usually the missiles end up falling off the back of the figure. Another problem the mold has is that the gas pump seems to come off the back of the figure as well depending on how you place the actual launcher. The other problem is that since the legs don't have any back area support it means the whole front section of the legs has to keep the figure up, in short this figure can fall down a fair few times depending on pose.

The vehicle mode is fantastic looking and with the new RiD Scourge colors makes the vehicle mode look great. Its easy to transform and the Decepticon logo on the front with the new clear red windows looks amazing. The smoke stacks are kind of short but then again they were like that with G2 Hero Prime as well so you cant start the whole "Smoke Stack" debate with that one since he was like this originally.

The back of the vehicle mode show off the huge gas pump and launcher which looks seriously menacing and if you push the gas pump quick enough then you will be rather surprised just how far the missile will actually go. Destructicon Scourge can also attach his rifle to the top section of the launcher to add even more extra firepower against the Autobots.

Destructicon Scourge was a KB store exclusive but a few managed to be sold in TRU in the UK and also a few in TRU USA stores (not many however) so getting a hold of this figure wasn't exactly easy. Scourge came on card with bubble outing and his data card shown at the front. Destructicon Scourge was a non-show character but in his bio it states how Bludgeon stole the "Destructicon" technology and how Scourge agreed to help him in order to gain this power which ends up making Scourge more powerful.

Aside from the few problems this figure has he is a fantastic figure. Great new paint scheme and the colors work well on both vehicle and robot mode. If you already own the G2 mold then its still worth getting your hands on this. If your a Scourge fan then this will definitely not disappoint you.
